A BUSY Halstead road has reopened after being closed by police following an accident involving two cars and a bus.

The incident occurred at around 8.30am on Thursday May 30 when a white Ford and a black vehicle collided on a mini-roundabout on Head Street.

The black car was forced into the front right-hand side of a Rivers bus after being hit by the white car.

After police arrived, they initially directed building traffic around the crash, which happened near St Andrews church, and cordoned off Colchester Road using traffic cones.

Before their arrival, however, an eye-witness saw a lady  using hand signals to safely keep the traffic flowing.

A woman who witnessed the crash, who doesn't wish to be identified, said: "Everyone got out ok, but there was a young child in the black car and a dog in the white car."

Paramedics treated drivers and passengers at the scene and no one is thought to have beens seriousyy injured.

The young boy was treated at the scene.

The crash has now been cleared and traffic on Head Street and Colchester Road is again moving freely.

No arrests were made.
