A Maldon charity has received part of a grant as part of a fundraising scheme supported by bereaved families.
The Maldon Pioneers were one of nine good causes selected by the East of England Co-op Funeral Service’s Community Giving Scheme to receive part of the £2,500 grant which will go towards continued projects.
The Pioneers are a group that supports young people with learning disabilities who living with their parents or independently and offers them activities and social events all year round.
The cause received a hefty chunk of the cash, taking £625 off the £2,500 total.
David Williams, from the Maldon Pioneers was delighted the charity was picked to receive the grant.
He said: "We are very grateful for the donation from the East of England Co-op Funeral Services which will help our volunteers continue to deliver activities for our members.”
Every three months the East of England Co-op Funeral Services team share £2,500 between good causes across Essex.
