BOLTON WANDERERS staff have been given free tickets to a fun fair outside The University of Bolton Stadium.

More than 200 tickets have been donated to staff, who have been unpaid since the end of March.

The tickets will allow holders to enjoy three hours of unlimited rides and free food at the fun fair.

Co-organiser Alan Cowie made the decision to offer the free tickets to Wanderers staff and has worked closely with the Bolton Wanderers Community Trust (BWCT).

He said: “It’s heart-breaking to see what this club is currently going through, it was sad to see the team relegated but to go into administration is sickening.

“Sometimes it is easy to forget the people behind the scenes keeping things going through troubled times and there are lots of families and people who have jobs who this year wouldn’t have been able to afford a visit to the fair.

“We want to give them a few hours away from all their problems and try and put a smile on the faces of the parents and children and we have been assured that the tickets will be well used over the school holidays and we have lots of rides here that will cater for all ages.”

The Mega Value Fun Park is open now and will run until Sunday June 2. On Wednesday May 29, it will be invite-only to Wanderers staff and other people selected for free admission by the BWCT.

A spokesman for BWCT added: “We have been able to offer this fantastic opportunity to many of our participants from a wide range of our projects including our disability, inclusion and education programmes.”
