POLICE are appealing for information after a pensioner was assaulted by an unknown man in her home.
The man broke into the victim's home in Dorothy Sayers Drive, in Witham, on Wednesday, April 24, at around 2pm.
The woman, in her 70s, spotted the man and when she challenged him about what he was doing, he pushed her and ran off.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Thankfully the woman was not seriously hurt but was left understandably distressed by the incident.
"We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area and witnessed any suspicious behaviour around this time, including those who may have captured any footage by dash cams or video doorbells."
Anyone with information should call Braintree CID on 101, quoting crime reference 42/63306/19.
