COME and meet Dorothy as she goes on a magical adventure to the land of Oz with a new professional staging of the classic story The Wizard of Oz.

The musical production is opening at Clacton’s West Cliff Theatre before embarking on a tour across the country.

Audiences will follow Dorothy as she tries to find her way back home to Kansas.

Along the way she makes new friends with the Scarecrow who longs for a brain, the Tin Man who really wants a heart and the very cowardly Lion who is desperate to be brave and have some courage.

A West Cliff Theatre spokesman said: “It’s not going to be easy for Dorothy to find her way home with the Wicked Witch of the West keeping a close eye on her.

“Will the great and powerful Wizard of Oz be able to help?

“This fantastic show is fun for all the family and guaranteed to have you smiling all the way to Oz and back as Dorothy and her friends battle that Wicked Witch of the West.

“This is a feel good show with modern songs the kids will love and that classic story we all know and cherish.”

This spectacular spring pantomime adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s classic story is packed with good jokes, quality song and dance routines, spectacular scenery and plenty more for all the family.

After the performance, audience members will get the opportunity to meet the characters and have their photos taken with them.

Performances take place at the theatre on Saturday, May 25, at 11am and 2.30pm.

Tickets cost £16 for adults, £14 concessions or a family ticket for four is £52.

Tickets can be booked in person at the theatre or by booking online at westcliffclacton.co.uk or by calling the box office on 01255 43 33 44.
