STARS of stage and screen were spotted filming in Tollesbury for the second series of an ITV drama.

Downton Abbey actress Joanne Froggatt and Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd were seen filming in Tollesbury marina.

The actors, along with the crew, were shooting the second series of Liar written by The Missing creators Harry and Jack Williams.

The cast and crew were seen filming in and around the marina and marshes area as work on the six-part drama got underway.

Back in 2017, the show was credited with giving tourism in the area a big boost.

The striking marshlands at Tollesbury Marina featured on every episode of the first series, serving as the background to the opening titles while numerous scenes were filmed.

The emotional thriller saw renowned surgeon Andrew Ellis, played by Gruffudd, murdered after his predatory behaviour towards women was revealed.

This time the story follows detectives uncovering clues about Andrew’s past and unpacking the events of the three crucial weeks leading up to his murder.
