A fundraising page has been set up to help the family of a man murdered in Greenstead.

Murdoch Brown, 31, was attacked in Buffett Way, Colchester, shortly before 1.10am on Tuesday, May 7.

Officers and paramedics were called to the scene but Mr Brown sadly died in hospital as a result of blood loss from stab wounds to his legs.

It is believed his death could potentially be linked to the sale of drugs.

A funding page has been set up to help pay for Mr Brown’s the funeral.

Friends have set up the Go Fund Me page and hope to raise £2,000.

A message on the page said: “Many people will know Murdoch as being the lovable rogue and only a few got to see the real Murdoch, kind, loving, loyal protective.

“Murdoch has made a massive impact on a lot of people’s lives and I know a lot of people would love to help in someway so why not try and make this sad time a little less painful and let’s give Murdoch the amazing send off he deserves.

“If we pass the goal perhaps [his family] could have a well deserved break.”
