THE name Archie Harrison has been on everyone’s lips this week, but for one Bolton family the name was already a very special one.

Prince Harry and Meghan welcomed their first child into the world on Monday and Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is now seventh in line to the British throne.

While the royal baby has a better claim to the throne, Farnworth parents Emma Humphries and Joseph Deveney can say they came up with the name first.

Their three-year-old son even has a double-barrel surname like the potential monarch.

Archie Harrison Humphries-Deveney does not yet understand that he shares his name with the royal but his mum is excited enough for the three of them.

Miss Humphries, who works as the deputy manager of a nursery, said: “A colleague at work showed me the day it was announced and I was really excited. I went round telling everyone.

“I never imagined it as a royal name. We’re very surprised but absolutely delighted.

“I’ve shown Archie pictures of the royal baby but I don’t think he understands. I think his six-year-old brother is more proud than him.

“Joseph was a bit more laid back but when I said it might be in the newspaper he got a bit more excited.”

Miss Humphries is a huge fan of the royal family and her son’s royal connection does not end with his name, as he was born in the Royal Bolton Hospital.

She added: “Everyone on my side of the family love it. We watch all the weddings and everything like that. I don’t think anybody expected such a modern name.”
