A STAMPEDE of cows “bulldozed” through their fencing and ended up in a main road for the third time in a month.
Twenty-two cows trampled down their fencing in a stampede before ending up in Trinity Road, Mistley, at about 7am on Thursday.
The farmer, who asked not to be named, said this was the third time the herd has stampeded out of their field which is between the Clacton Road and Green Lane.
He said: “The cattle just bulldozed through the fence, and I think a dog could have chased them. I am at a bit of a loss. It’s happened three times within a month.”
He added: “After I was called I shot down and the two men were really helpful and the cows sort of wandered back the way they came.
“If someone ploughs into a 500kg animal it would not be good at all.”
The damaged fence has now been repaired.
