It’s a game of musical chairs at the Hedingham Singers after the choir recently said goodbye to its musical director.

Alexander Binns, who was formerly the group’s musical director, has now taken on the same role at Derby Cathedral.

Mr Binns was appointed musical director of the Hedingham Singers in September 2017, replacing previous choir leader Thomas Duchan.

Fortunately the singing will not be stopping because Mr Duchan has made a comeback at the group, resuming his old role as musical director.

A spokesman for Hedingham Singers said: “Thomas brings with him a wealth of experience and will immediately continue with the rehearsals for our Saturday Night At The Movies concert in aid of the St Nicholas Parish Church renovation fund.

The concert, on Saturday, May 25, at 7.30pm, will feature a great selection of soundtrack favourites from Oliver! up to the present day with The Greatest Showman and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Tickets for the concert are now on sale at Castle Hedingham Village Shop or call 07790 573435 for further details.

Tickets are £10 each.
