CHILDREN had the chance to meet some of their favourite TV characters at a railway station event.

Furry heroes Chase the German shepherd and Marshall the dalmatian from the animated series Paw Patrol made an appearance at the Colne Valley Railway on Sunday.

Some 300 visitors came to meet the iconic rescue dogs, who star in the award winning Nickelodeon series.

Visitors also had the chance to meet the team from Blackwater Preservation on site with two of their fire engines between 10am and 5pm.

Children and adults even had the chance to have a go at putting out a fire using the firefighters’ hoses.

A spokesman from Colne Valley Railway said: “The day was very popular with all ages.”

Visitors enjoyed the special attraction as well as the railway museum’s steam and diesel train rides which are run on all open days.

The next character event at Colne Valley Railway will welcome Peter Rabbit on Sunday, June 2.

Opening times are10.30am to 5pm.
