THE final day of trading at a post office was disrupted because of smashed glass.

Customers could not get into the site in North Hill, Colchester, because of debris inside the building this morning.

However staff were able to reopen as normal by lunchtime.

The building is now shut and post office services have been relocated to WH Smith in the Lion Walk Shopping Centre.

Tomorrow is the first day of trading for the new premises.

The controversial move was first mooted in October last year, and confirmed following a six-week public consultation.
