A VILLAGE sign has been restored to its former glory thanks to the work of a community group.

The work on the Bocking sign was carried out by the Cressing Community Shed which is run by retired craftsmen to help avoid residents becoming isolated and lonely.

The repairs on the dilapidated sign were paid for by the annual duck race held at the Bocking Mayday Fayre.

The fayre will celebrate its 25th anniversary on Monday, May 6.
