A HOST of Easter-themed events will be taking place at a popular beauty spot.

Families are invited to head to High Woods Country Park in Colchester to take part in a variety of outdoor activities which organisers say will help offer the little ones plenty of fresh air.

The fun kicks off on Wednesday with Easter egg rolling which will see competitors create their own egg before racing it down a hill.

The activity takes place between 10am and 12pm and costs £4.40 per child.

A self-guided Easter trail will then take place throughout Easter Saturday, Sunday and Monday where visitors can pick up a map and follow a designated route around the park.

The trail takes place between 11am and 3pm each day and maps cost £1.

The final event to be held at the park this month will be a fishing for beginners course on April 28 which will teach participants the basics of water safety, equipment, bait types and fish species.

The course costs £6 per person and is suitable for children aged seven and above. Booking is essential and equipment is available to borrow upon request.

Tickets for Easter egg rolling and the fishing course must be purchased in advance.
