TWO scooters have been donated to a children’s charity after a Micro scooter was stolen from the shop front.

A woman was caught on CCTV stealing a scooter from outside Colchester Children’s Charity in Old Heath Road.

The Gazette appealed for information following the theft.

Now staff at the charity shop have received donations to make up for the loss.

Micro, the company which makes the scooters, donated two free of charge to the shop with a kind note.

It said: “We were so saddened to read the news about the theft of a Micro scooter from your shop.

“It is our mission here to ensure every child gets a chance to play and enjoy the transformational benefits a scooter can bring.

“We hope the sale of these scooters helps contribute to the brilliant work the children’s charity does.”

They also donated locks to keep the scooters secure.

Another two kind donors have also handed over £15 each to cover the cost of the stolen scooter.

There has been no sign of the scooter which was taken.
