POLICE have issued a fresh appeal after they arrested a seventh man in connection with a fight in Braintree town centre.

A 21-year-old man from Braintree was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence today (Tuesday, March 19) and he remains in custody for questioning.

It comes following a large brawl in Market Place, Braintree, where a teenager was stabbed in the hand and suffered life-changing injuries.

Officers are continuing their search for Mickey McDonagh, 22, who is wanted in connection with the fight, which happened around 5.20pm on January 5.

Police say McDonagh has links to London, is of a larger build, has dark brown hair and is 5ft 6ins tall.

He is also believed to have links to the Braintree area.

Five arrests were made soon after the disturbance, including two men from Braintree, aged 19 and 50, and two men from Chelmsford, aged 22 and aged 51.

The 19-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of affray, has been released on bail until April 4.

The 22-year-old man from Chelmsford and 50-year-old man from Braintree, both also arrested on suspicion of affray, have been released on bail until April 5.

The 51-year-old man from Chelmsford has been released without charge.

A 19-year-old man, arrested on February 23 on suspicion of public order offences, has been released on bail until March 19.
