Man arrested after reports a woman was raped in Colchester town centre
POLICE have arrested a man on suspicion of rape and theft following an incident in Colchester this morning, Saturday, March 16.
The 21-year-old from Colchester was arrested at around 7.10pm and he remains in custody for questioning.
The arrest follows reports a woman in her 20s was raped and had her phone stolen in George Street at around 5.25am.
She continues to receive support from specially trained officers.
