A MOTHER says she was shocked to find around 15 fridges dumped in a quiet rural lane while on the school run.

Sophie Bardrick came across the fly-tipped units in Scrip's Road, Coggeshall, this morning (March 13).

She said: "When I saw it I just thought "Oh my goodness". I had the children in the car so I drove to school and emailed the council when I got there to make them aware of it."

"I do think it's becoming more a problem around here, another corner on that road has stuff left there at least once a month but this one really took the biscuit."

It is believed they were fly-tipped at some point between yesterday evening and this morning.

A spokesman for Braintree Council said: "We received reports of a fly-tip along Scrips Road, Coggeshall on Wednesday morning which was cleared promptly by our street cleansing team.

"We take fly-tipping very seriously and where we have evidence we will investigate further and take legal action, so if anyone has any information about this fly-tip, please get in touch with our Street Scene Protection Team."
