Remembered - the road name in honour of former Mayor Martin Hunt, surrounded by dignataries, councillors and relatives
RESPECTED former mayors have their names permanently commemorated on some of Colchester’s newest streets.
Road name signs have been put up on the Hampton Park estate off Tollgate Road in Stanway, which was built by Persimmon Homes.
Six roads have been named after former mayors who will go down in Colchester’s history for their service to the borough.
Councillors, members of the Colchester Civic Society and relatives of the late mayors attended a ceremony which had been organised by the society.
The roads have been named Peter Crowe Approach, Martin Hunt Drive, Christopher Garnett Chase, Westley Sandford Road, Allen Aldridge Grove and Reg Hilham Walk.
