SO Persimmon Homes cannot afford to build affordable homes on the Cowdray Centre site. This from a company which made £1 billion in profit last year and gave one of its directors a £70 million bonus.
How long is the sheer greed of developers going to be allowed to continue at the expense of people wanting a home?
With all the homes built in Colchester over the last 20 years, there should nobody waiting to be housed or homeless.
Come on Colchester Council, start representing the people of Colchester and make the whole site affordable housing.
If Persimmon can't do this, get somebody who can.
This unmitigated greed should not be allowed to continue.
