These pictures show the scenes after Essex University was evacuated over a suspicious package.
Police were called to the campus and have put a 100m cordon is in place.
A section of the campus has been evacuated - as well as nearby buildings.
Police are awaiting the arrival of the Ministry of Defence explosive ordanance disposal team.
Witnesses have described the scene as being calm.
