History enthusiasts snapped up signed copies of a book illustrating how Harwich has changed over the last century.
The author, Phil Cowley, died last November, aged 54, after a long battle with leukaemia.
The former head of the Harwich Sixth Form Centre was about to release what would have been his fourth local history book.
But his wife, Sue Cowley, made sure Harwich, Dovercourt and Parkeston - Then and Now was published.
Mrs Cowley and the book's photographer, John Sallows, signed copies at Harwich Connexions tourist information centre in Parkeston on Saturday.
Each page shows an image of the town taken more than 100 years ago, with a picture of the modern day scene opposite.
The book is available from Harwich Old Books in Market Street.
