The community must rally around Jessica Morris to help bring her a joy many of us take for granted.
The five-year-old has never had the strength to walk unassisted.
Most of us do not even consider the importance of being able to walk without aid in our daily lives, unless it is taken from us.
In recent years Jessica has made vast improvements in her physical and social skills as she continues to live with Rett syndrome.
The fundraising campaigns her family and carer hold annually are vital to her treatment and we should never forget how vital that even giving a little could be to that cause.
Every day we take for granted things others may never have, and when we have the chance to help them experience those things, we should help where we can.
