TALENTED students wowed audiences with their performances of West End musical Les Miserables.

Clacton County High School put on a total of four performances.

Children as young as 11 took part, while guests praised the students and described it as "just as outstanding as the West End Show".

Chris Taylor, head of school, said: “It seems difficult for us to express how proud we are of those involved.

“A tremendous number of hours and dedication went in to making the production what it was.

“The standing ovation after every performance was thoroughly deserved by the whole cast, the technical team and all the staff who gave up their weekends, and numerous additional hours, to help ensure the production was the masterpiece it became.”

A special mention went to the leading stars: Harry McCarthy, Ian Stainer, Joe Zuccala, Bethan Powell, Lola Garlick, Emily Knight, Freya Welham, Louis McNeilly, Olivia Roberts, Joss-Paul Miller, Sebastian Sanchez and Will Lawrence.
