A WELLBEING and family fun day was held to raise money for a mental health charity.

The event was held at Brightlingsea Sports Centre, and was one of many in the line-up for Brightlingsea WinterFest.

The festival, which runs throughout February, is aimed at raising awareness of mental health and also raises funds for the mental health charity, Mid and North East Essex Mind.

A new event in the Brightlingsea WinterFest schedule this year was the wellbeing day, which also included family-friendly activities.

There was bouncy castles, face painting, sports taster sessions and workshops, arts and crafts stalls.

For the parents, the wellbeing day was centred around a Valentine’s theme. There was life-coaching, yoga taster sessions, natural food stalls and talks from personal trainers.

Alix Sheppard, who started Brightlingsea WinterFest, said: “There was a lot of local stall holders and a lot of children and families also came to play on the bouncy castle.”
