A MAN has been jailed after admitting to carrying an axe and breaking into a property on New Year's Eve.
Rafal Szczeblawski, 37, of Virgil Road, Witham, was sentenced to 12 months at Chelmsford Crown Court on Monday.
He admitted to having the axe, breaking into a property in Epping Way, Witham, and assaulting a man and a woman who were inside.
Szczeblawski was also given a two-year restraining order and ordered to pay £1,100 in compensation.
