A TEENAGER has appeared in court charged with murder after a fatal stabbing in Colchester.
A 17-year-old boy, from Woolwich, appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court yesterday charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a knife.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will next appear at court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on April 15.
A provisional date for the trial, which could last three weeks, has been set for July 15.
The teenager was arrested following the fatal stabbing of Carl Hopkins, 49, who was found dead in Ryegate Road, Colchester, on Monday, February 11.
A second man was found with stab wounds in George Street on Sunday, February 10.
