POTTERMANIA came to Colchester during a magical event at the town’s library.
Dozens of children enjoyed a fun afternoon of imagination and magic at the library, in Trinity Square.
After being sorted into their Hogwarts houses, youngsters enjoyed a range of book themed activities and took part in a quiz to earn points for their team.
One craft session had children making their own owl out of a balloon whilst they also got to have a go at running through the “brick wall” between platforms 9 and 10 at Kings Cross Station to board the Hogwarts Express.
A spokesman for Essex County Council said: “Harry Potter Book Night 2019 at Colchester Library was a spectacular afternoon of fun and magic, and even better than last year.
“Everyone said how much they enjoyed themselves and had a great time as they left.
“While the children mostly agreed that making the owls was their favourite part they all agreed that they loved every moment.
“In the end it was Ravenclaw who earned the most house points and won the Hogwarts House Cup for 2019.
“The winning team members earned a winner’s certificate and their names in lights – well, on the noticeboard in the children’s library.”
