AN entrepreneurial animal lover has expanded her dog pampering business by opening a new base within a garden centre.

In The Doggy House officially opened its new home on Sunday at Mill Race Garden Centre, in New Road, Aldham.

The business is the brainchild of experienced groomer Megan Bracey, who has previously run the company from a log cabin in the garden of her Stanway home.

Miss Bracey, 24, said: “It’s always been my dream to have my own dog grooming shop.

"That dream has now come true after years of hard work, as well as a love and passion for animals, and with amazing continuous support from family, friends and my customers.

"I can’t wait to continue In The Doggy House in this amazing new adventure."

Entrepreneurial Miss Bracey spent three years studying at Otley College reaching level three in animal management before moving on to acquire her dog grooming qualifications.

In April 2014 she founded In The Doggy House, and has slowly been building an impressive client base.

Miss Bracey, who is now a certified advanced professional groomer, said: "When the opportunity to take on premises at Mill Race Garden Centre came up it was too good to turn down.

“And I think it’s a really good fit for both businesses.

"When my customers bring their dog to me for a bath and cut they can now spend an hour or two browsing round the garden centre or getting a drink and a bite to eat in the coffee shop, while Mill Race’s customers who are dog owners can now bring their pets to us before getting everything they need from the garden centre.”

For the first time in six months, In The Doggy House has spaces available for new clients.
