A NURSERY in Tiptree has maintained its “good” Ofsted rating after an inspection earlier this month.

Inspectors found the quality of teaching and personal development for children at Milldene Playgroup, in Barbrook Lane, was good.

The report said: “Arrangement's for safeguarding are effective. They know how to act promptly should they have a concern about the welfare of a child.

“Staff demonstrate a good understanding of how children learn and develop.

“They provide a stimulating environment and give children plenty of choice to play.

“All children enjoy good relationships with their peers and make friends easily.

“Children thrive in the nurturing and welcoming environment.”

To be rated outstanding, the playgroup must improve on raising expectations of what the most able children can achieve to further promote learning and progress.

They must also strengthen the process for self-evaluation to plan more precisely for further improvements.

The report was carried out on January 9 and published last week.
