POLICE have arrested a second man after a series of five knifepoint robberies in just two hours.
Police were called to a spate of attacks across New Town and the Hythe on Saturday morning where victims were threatened with a weapon.
Just minutes after the final attack, police arrested a 28-year-old man who was released under investigation.
Now a second arrest has been made in connection with the robberies.
A 30-year-old man from Colchester has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and burglary.
He remains in custody for questioning.
