I TRIED to complete the library survey online but having limited skills in this direction I made the phone call and duly completed the hard copy.
I managed it with a lot of concentration but at least I was able to tick the boxes with a pen, the old-fashioned way, whereas on-line it wouldn't let me.
Being cynical in my old age, I think the survey was deliberately convoluted and lengthy to get people to give up.
However that's not my style so I finished it.
Item 19 asks for ideas for improving the service or reducing the cost.
The following was my reply, written in all seriousness: 'You should be doing everything in your power to save money elsewhere, not closing libraries.
"Very soon there will be no interaction between actual people and as a result you will need to build more mental health hospitals, which will cost a lot more than money saved by closing librarues."
I wonder if anyone will take any notice? I doubt it, but we have to keep trying.
