AN inquest has opened into the death of a man who was found hanged at his home in Colchester.

Ewan Williamson was found dead at his home in Bourne Road, Colchester, on December 21.

An inquest looking into how he died was opened at the Coroner’s Court in Chelmsford on Friday.

Joe Lagrossi, coroner’s officer, said: “The 46-year-old was discovered unresponsive.

“Paramedics were called and the police attended. They confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances.

“A post mortem examination showed the provisional cause of death was hanging.”

Coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray said the full inquest will be heard on June 11, and in the meantime she requires more information.

She said: “The body can be released, I shall require a mention for early in January because we need to clarify whether or not this gentleman was known to the Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.

“I shall require a copy of the post mortem examination report, toxicology report and police statements.”

The Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust primarily provides mental health support, learning disability, social care and community services.
