YOUNG rugby players are celebrating after bagging new kit thanks to a fresh sponsorship deal.

Witham Rugby Club’s Under-13 team is being sponsored by developers Redrow through the season and have new kit as part of the deal.

The club has gone from strength to strength since its relaunch in 2000, offering training and matches for 75 players.

Junior chairman Lee Bywater said: “It’s fantastic that Redrow has sponsored one of our junior teams this year. The new kit will certainly make the whole squad stand out when playing.

“This season has started really well for us – numbers are well up from last year.

"With help from Redrow, Witham Rugby Club juniors can only go from strength to strength providing the very best for all our junior players.”

Redrow spokesman Kerry McCoubrey said: “Rugby is a great sport which will teach the children the importance of teamwork and discipline, while also encouraging them to be outdoors and active.”
