Police and firefighters were called to the accident this evening.
Gazette reader David Rice sent in this picture of emergency services at the scene after two cars were in collision.
@Colchesterviews reported on Twitter that: "Old Heath Road closed heading into Rowhedge at Abbott’s Road roundabout. Long queues. Hope everyone is okay."
@Colchestersoup said: "Old Heath Road closed from Abbott’s Road towards Rowhedge - emergency services on scene - avoid area and let them concentrate on job in hand."
