COLCHESTER Park and Ride will be free for shoppers every Wednesday in the run-up to Christmas
To help boost the town centre's late-night Christmas shopping evenings, visitors can use the service for free between 12noon and 9pm on December 5, 12 and 19.
Kevin Bentley, Essex County Councillor responsible for infrastructure, said: "Instead of driving into town, jump on board our free Park and Ride service on Wednesdays and enjoy a stress-free shopping experience in Colchester’s fantastic high street to snap up some festive goodies.
“Some of the benefits of stepping away from the keyboard and hitting the high street include friendly and welcoming shop managers offering tailored advice, being able to see, test and take home the product that day, the knowledge that 50-70p of every pound will circulate in the economy, and an overall experience and atmosphere in Colchester which the online world simply cannot compete with.”
