A NURSERY is celebrating after watchdogs said it was “outstanding” for the fourth time running.

Inspectors heaped praise on Nanny Jo’s Day Nursery, in Frinton Road, Thorpe, following an inspection last month.

It was the fourth time it has been rated as “outstanding” since it opened 12 years ago.

It was rated as “outstanding” in all areas, including the effectiveness of its leadership, quality of teaching, personal development and outcomes for children.

Gem Baker, deputy manager, said: “We are over the moon with the outcome of our most recent inspection and immensely proud of all our team.

“We would like to thank all our parents and outside professionals for their continued support.”

A report by inspector Alison Reeves praised the excellent use of “in-the-moment planning” to support children to follow their interests and ideas.

She added: “Staff respond thoughtfully to observations of children’s interactions and use of space.

“They make changes to the learning environment to provide high-level support for children’s behaviour and to improve interaction between children.

“Staff have put into place a detailed step-by-step settling-in programme, developed from training.

“This helps to ensure every child is effectively supported as they make the move from home to regular attendance at nursery.

“Staff give high priority to children’s emotional well-being and endeavour to help parents through the key steps in their children’s lives.”
