A THEATRE in Clacton is gearing up for an exciting month of shows with something for everyone.

The West Cliff Theatre, in Tower Road, Clacton, is set for performances to suit all ages and tastes, from carols to Rock ‘n’ Roll, thought provoking plays to family shows.

Clacton Amateur Dramatic Society is set to present The Accrington Pals from November 28 to December 1.

The Accrington Pals follows the story of the innocent and enthusiastic men who volunteered their services to their country after Kitchener’s calls for a New Army.

Their experiences of life on the Western Front are contrasted with the women who are left behind in Accrington, women who come together as friends when facing financial, social and sexual deprivation, as well as being thrown into the social changes that came along with the absence of many men.

Tickets for the 7.39pm shows cost £10 and there is also a Saturday matinee.

Clacton Theatretrain will then present A Celebration of Cinematic Greats on Sunday, December 2.

The students of Theatretrain will take audiences on a cinematic journey filled with songs, dance and extracts from all the shows people know and love, including The Greatest Showman, Madagascar, The Addams Family, Toy Story and Charlie and The Chocolate.
