A MAN was cautioned by police after a knuckle duster was found in a car in Clacton.

Officers from the Tendring Community Policing Team said the weapon was found following a pro-active traffic stop in Bluehouse Avenue on Wednesday.

A spokesman said two occupants of the car were arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.

He added: “Both occupants of the car denied all knowledge of this large metal object in full view inside the car.

“Both were taken to custody to explain. Subsequently one male was given an adult caution.

“A knuckle duster is considered a banned item and as such illegal to sell, post or own.

“If you do have such an item then the best advice is destroy it, drop it into your local police station or even use the knife bin outside Only Cowards Carry, on Jackson Road, Clacton.”
