POWER has been turned off in Elmstead Market following a crash where a power cable had fallen down.
UK Power Networks said 92 homes had been affected.
A spokesman said: "It is following third party damage to overhead power lines in a road traffic accident in Colchester Road, Elmstead Market.
"UK Power Networks engineers are working as quickly and safely as they can to repair the damage and to return supplies back to normal."
The crash happened at about 9.48am.
Colchester Road has been blocked eastbound following a crash involving two cars.
A second crash happened in Mile End Road, Colchester, at about 9.51am.
The crash between two cars is partially blocking the road and traffic is having to use the bus lane.
UPDATE 11AM: Both incidents have now been cleared.
