I READ with interest your article on the automatic number recognition parking being introduced at Colchester General Hospital and North Station.
While I understand the need to control the parking situation, having to register a vehicle is a step to far.
As a disabled badge holder myself, I am concerned particularly with Colchester General, as I go for treatment where I am unable to drive and my neighbour takes me to and from in her car.
If the system at the hospital is like the station and badge holders can only register one car at a time, this is going to cause a lot of disabled people problems.
But I encourage any people from the disability rights organisations who may read this to look into this policy as both Greater Anglia and Colchester Hospital could be breaking disability access laws and discrimination law.
How? The blue badge is registered to the person who holds it, not their vehicle.
