PATIENTS have been relocated while “minor improvement works” are carried out at a hospital.
Work is taking place at St Peter’s Hospital in Spital Road, Maldon.
Concerned relatives had contacted the Standard after discovering their loved ones receiving treatment at the centre were being moved.
A spokesman for the Mid Essex Hospital Trust, which runs the hospital, apologised to the affected patients.
He said: “There are currently some minor improvement works taking place at St Peter's Hospital, which have already begun.
“Some patients may need to be relocated within the hospital, and we apologise to patients and their families in advance for any inconvenience this causes.
“It is standard practice for patients to be transferred to Broomfield Hospital if there is a medical need. This is unrelated to the works currently being undertaken at St Peter's.”
