CHILDREN had fun dressing up for a special spooky run through Colchester’s Recreation Ground.

The weekly Junior Parkrun had a bit of a twist this time as participants were asked to dress up as their favourite spooky characters ahead of Halloween.

There were some impressive costumes, including witches, skeletons, and film characters including Harry Potter.

Despite the rain, everyone enjoyed running around the park.

Run director Hannah Hunt said the run was a huge success and there was a great turnout.

She said: “It was a great morning, 50 children plus volunteers came out in the heavy rain dressed in an array of costumes.

“We had witches, bats, skeletons, and Harry potter’s plus more.

“Junior runner Dylan led a great warm up to Halloween themed music, busting some zombie moves and bat flapping to get the children in the mood for a spooktacular run full of fun.”
