And something a little different:

HALSTEAD GUY FAWKES TRAIL

Sunday, Halstead Public Gardens, 10am to 3pm.

Now in its ninth year, residents and businesses across the town are invited to make their own model of Guy Fawkes, whose failed attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament in 1605 is still remembered today.

All Guys will be stationed around the gardens to allow visitors to follow a trail laid out by organisers.

While some of the Guys will be easily visible, the more devious ones will be hidden away, so all participants will need to keep a watchful eye out to make sure they don’t miss an entry.

Previous years have seen an average of 15 Guys submitted to the trail, but organisers, Friends of Halstead Public Gardens, are appealing to more members of the the public to get involved. All Guys being displayed must be labelled with its creators’ name and brought to the park by 9.30am at the latest.

All entries can be collected after 3pm. Entry to the trail is free and there are child friendly activities offering certificates and sweet treats.

To find out more information or to register your own model of Guy, contact Linda Hilton on 07936 141592.
