A nursery in Braintree has been rated good after an Ofsted inspection.
Busy Beavers Community Nursery was inspected for the first time last month after registering in 2016.
The nursery, at Marks Farm Community Centre, was rated good in all areas and given advice on how to become outstanding.
The inspection report says: “Staff understand their child protection responsibilities and know how to identify and report concerns about a child’s welfare.
“Key persons know children well and have a good understanding of their individual development needs.
“Good hygiene routines and regular physical activities outside help to contribute to the promotion of children’s healthy lifestyles at the nursery.
“All children make good progress. They recognise colours and can count to five and beyond.”
The nursery has 26 children on its roll, aged between two and four, and employs four members of childcare staff.
The report said staff should make the better use of information gathered from parents and improve the nursery’s performance management review to support staff.
