POLICE are appealing for information after a woman in her 90s was robbed in Clacton.
The offence happened between 6.45pm and 7pm on Tuesday, October 16 near Coppins Road.
A spokesman said: “The victim had just been to the Premier Convenience store and it is believed she was followed on her way back to her house in a nearby road.
“As the woman opened her front door, a man appeared and tried to push the door open.
“He then stole her purse out of her hand and ran off in the direction of Coppins Road.
“The victim was left with a small cut to her left hand in the struggle.
“A small amount of change and her bank card were among the items stolen.
“Her bus pass and a photograph also in the purse. These were found a short while later in Melbourne Road”
The suspect is described as white and was wearing trainers, a baseball cap and a light coloured tracksuit.
