A MAN caught with a knife in a popular bar has been given a suspended prison term.
Darren Skerrett, 50, was found with a large kitchen knife in Walkabout in Head Street, Colchester, in August.
He also had six wraps of cannabis.
Skerrett, of Stanley Wooster Way, Colchester, admitted possession of a knife and class B drugs at Colchester Magistrates' Court.
He was given six months in jail suspended for a year.
Skerrett has a previous conviction for possession of a blade.
He must pay £200 in court charges.
The drugs will be destroyed.
