A NEW mural celebrating the history of art was unveiled at a Canvey beach.
The Friends of Concord Beach and the mayor of Castle Point Clive Walter were in attendance to unveil artist Richard Ashton’s new piece at the sea wall in Eastern Esplanade.
Mr Ashton, a retired building surveyor took up mural painting three years ago and he has previously completed pieces at the seafront and at Southend Hospital.
Richard said: “The mural was designed to celebrate my love of art and art history.
“The painting has taken me 100 visits totalling 500 hours during the last 15 months.
“I have received the support of Friends of Concord Beach and I have enjoyed making new friends and chatting with passersby who all enjoy looking at this and other murals along the seawall.”
