TALENTED school students delighted crowds during a special concert at Charter Hall.

Holmwood House School's chamber choir, which is made up of pupils in years four to eight, were invited to join Funky Voices for their The Greatest Show concert at the Colchester venue on Saturday evening.

After coaching from Funky Voice's musical director Sandra Colston, pupils performed two of the biggest hits from the film, Waiting for a Star to Fall and This is Me.

Alvaro Cortes, director of music at Holmwood House, has also worked as a tutor with Funky Voices since June.

He said: "Although the Holmwood House chamber choir focuses on classical and liturgical music, we are always happy to expand our repertoire and we were delighted to be working with Funky Voices on a more contemporary concert.

"We sang two songs this time but we will welcome more opportunities to work together in the future.

"I was very proud when, after the first rehearsal, Sandra Colston said to me how impressed she was with the choir and the children."
