A MAN who said he was too tired to attend unpaid work appointments has been fined.

Simon Geck was handed 150 hours of unpaid work in July after admitting assault.

But has missed two of his scheduled appointments, telling staff he was exhausted from working six days per week as a roofer.

The 32-year-old has arrived for three appointments but on each occasion been told the session was oversubscribed so it only counted as one hour each towards his total.

Geck, of Defoe Crescent, Colchester, admitted the breach at Colchester Magistrates' Court and was fined £250.

He must also pay £60 costs.
